The Ohio Turnpike Commission (OTC) has converted to a new toll collection system that classifies vehicles based upon the number of axles and the height over the first two axles. Tolls are still calculated based on the vehicle classification and distance traveled but the number of vehicle classifications was reduced from 11 to 7 classes. This reduction in vehicle classifications has compressed certain rate classes which may result in a fare change for some vehicles.
E-ZPass is currently accepted on the Ohio Turnpike. Customers can utilize an E-ZPass Only lane (where available) or a mixed-used lane. All interchanges also accept United States currency for toll payment, in addition to major credit cards (VISA, MasterCard, Discover, or American Express) or debit cards that are associated with a major credit card. In order to remain compliant with the Federal Reserve Bank’s policy on authorized deposits, the Ohio Turnpike Commission no longer accepts foreign currency or coins.
There is an ATM located in each of the Ohio
Turnpike service plazas so that customers can easily obtain U.S.
currency 24/7/365.
Special hauling permit information and fees, including over width permits for the movement of over width pleasure boats are available on the Download Forms page, Truckers Permits.
